New Vision Demands New Marketing Structure

Eugene, OR (August 1, 2005) – That sound of something huge rustling in the nearby brush is BowTech about to break from cover. In an opening move that’s a precursor to some exciting changes coming in 2006 from BowTech, the company announces the restructuring and realignment of its marketing team.

Gene Shands, the Marketing/Creative Director of BowTech since its inception, has decided to step down from the Marketing Director role. Shands’s continuing role as Creative Director allows him to focus all his energy on the 2006 strategic planning, vision, and branding for all of BowTech, which includes Diamond bows and accessories and Waterdog Surface Technologies.

Stepping into the role of Marketing Manager is Margaret Knupp, formally BowTech’s Marketing Coordinator, where she is overseeing the day-to-day administration and management of the department. Knupp is working closely with Shands to develop and implement the marketing strategy for BowTech and assumes responsibility for all media and sponsorship negotiations, final media  placement decisions, compiling and analyzing market research, and adherence to the marketing budget plan.

These role changes are effective immediately.

“What we have planned for 2006 is so significant that it demands my full-time attention,” says Shands of his revised role in the company. “What excites me the most is the opportunity to focus on the creative development that is going to take BowTech to a whole new level. God blessed me with a creative mind and, frankly, that is my biggest value to BowTech. I also have great confidence in Margaret and her ability to take on this expanded role.”

Knupp joined BowTech in September 2002 as a Marketing Assistant. She was promoted to Marketing Coordinator in February 2004, when she assumed responsibility for a greater share of the departmental administrative duties, including requests from BowTech’s network of dealers, media representatives, and sales and production personnel. She now shoulders all of these duties, as well as those of her new role.

“I’m incredibly proud of BowTech and the direction it’s headed,” says Knupp. “I’m looking forward to planning for our 2006 product launch and in working even more closely with all of our contacts in the industry.”

BowTech manufacturers and distributes the world’s finest compound bows and archery equipment. President/CEO, John Strasheim, and Vice President/R&D, Kevin Strother, founded BowTech in 1999. Today, BowTech divisions include WaterDog Surface Technologies, formed in February 2004 and Diamond Archery, acquired in September 2004.
