Water Clarity: 2-3 feet

Just want to give a 'more positive' update on toledo Bend. I have seen a couple reports and concerns of people debating on going fishing on toledo bend. Go to Toledo to fish! I do most every weekend. Yes, it is dangerous and I don't recommend getting on plane except in a few areas, but the water is coming up (pooring down rain as I write) and we should only need the lake to get to 165 to make it safer in most all areas. With the water as it is now, I have been catching a lot of fish in mid lake areas putting in at Cypress Bend. Now I heard the ranp at Penndleton bridge is open. It is a little inconvenient idling more than you like, but the fish don't seem to mind (especially the crapie, but I only bass fish). Plus the lake at this level is giving away many secrets that you can be ready for when the level gets back to normal. Most of my fish have come from 18' - 34' on carolina riggs, drop shot and spoons (but I haven't tried much shallow). Oh yea, one of them was 11 lbs 13 oz a few weeks ago, my biggest ever. Don't give up on Toledo!
