2004 McPherson EDGE (LH)

This is a bow I have been in anticipation for a long time, so I couldn’t wait to get receive it. When I received the bow it came in the standard shipping box. The box did have some rips and tears but all in all it was in pretty normal shape. I removed the bow from the box and inspected it, everything seemed to be in good shape. First I must say what a sharp bow the new mossy oak camo really looks good. The new rosewood grip was another eye catcher, even though I’m usually not much of a grip shooter. The magneto cam system which is pearson/mcpherson’s new hybrid system both wheels are a green color, which I thought looked pretty sharp. The strings and cable looked good also a combination of green and black twist. The strings and cables are Vapor Trail. I had been hearing so many good things about these strings I couldn’t wait to test them out. Last but not least like all of Pearson’s higher end bows it came equipped with a vib-x.

For those of you that do not know the vib-x is an insert below the handle made from vibrasorb gel. It is designed to take away all the shock and vibration and does a good job.

Here are some speed tests: 65lbs (just under 30" draw): one brass nock set, kisser button and peep sight

340 grain beman ics venture............305...306......308fps

333 gain beman ics field ...............306....308.....310fps

After shooting the bow for several weeks I really like it. It is very smooth and fast and quiet. I found the new magneto cam system to be a really smooth drawing and smooth shooting cam system with little or no recoil. The vapor trail strings and cables seem to be holding up very well, I haven’t had and stretch and very little peep rotation. The one thing I was skeptical about this bow was the short a to a, but after shooting it for a few weeks, it shot and felt as good as a longer a to a bow. The one thing I like most about this bow is it seems to hold really well, and the last inch to inch and a half of the draw cycle is very smooth. I would recommend this bow for hunters and competition alike.
