Within the soul of a hunter there is "purpose"... and by design fulfills an elemental need within nature.   Driven with a zeal that can only be described as “instinctive”, the hunter willingly travels down the difficult paths in life that are less traveled.   Harsh and unforgiving at times, they are the paths that lead to contentment… and an inner peace that is often times found in remote and inhospitable expanses of lonely wilderness.

One is not drawn to these paths of solitude simply to distance them-self from civilization, but rather… to replenish their soul.   It is not something that can be easily explained, for in today’s society very few are able to comprehend this passion that is ‘Primal’ at its very core.

In today's "fast paced" world, it isn’t often enough that a wildlife film is created that touches upon the very essence of “why we hunt”.   One that reaches deep into the very heart and soul of the hunter, in part, revealing the fervent passion that drives a dwindling number of individuals to seek out the trails in life less traveled.   Gene & Barry Wensel have combined their love for nature with the undeniable talents of Mike, Mark, and David Mitten to create such a production.

In the award-winning movie entitled “Primal Dreams”, the Wensel / Mitten brothers have set a new benchmark in excellence for outdoor cinematography.   This film is a masterpiece in it’s own right, as both the Wensels’ and Mittens’ combine the breath-taking scenery of North America’s back country with their own passionate wisdom and understanding for the outdoors.   “Primal Dreams” offers a unique and truly awe-inspiring look at nature, through the eyes of the hunter.

With a rich hunting heritage that spans for more than a half a century, the Wensels’ and the Mittens’ freely share their passion for hunting in this tender, and yet very powerful movie.   With hunting at the core of this production… it soon becomes obvious to the viewer that the actual hunt is only a superficial action of a much deeper, and more meaningful venture

Even to the causal on-looker, “Primal Dreams” is a testimony to the fact that the true nature of the hunt borders upon the spiritual.   It is the act of fulfillment, a passion steeped in purpose.   For it is within our very design that we are both predator and stewards of this land God has entrusted to us.

At almost two hours in length, “Primal Dreams” takes the viewer on a journey across North America in pursuit of turkey, elk, moose, and whitetail deer.   Filled with every manner of wildlife, in virtually every conceivable environment… this movie, at times, is overwhelming with its rich content. But this is only a small part of what this film has to offer, as those who watch find themselves engrossed in the beauty of our land, taking with them a vivid and deeper appreciation for God’s creation and the nature of “the hunt”.

The insight and wisdom offered in this movie is both warm and genuine, demanding the respect of both the hunter, and the passive bystander alike.    Beautifully portrayed, “Primal Dreams” is a one of a kind film that must be shared with others.   Stirring to the soul, it provides insight into our rich hunting heritage to a generation that has lost its way.   www.brothersofthebow.com
